Hello, it's me, Shari Barnes! I'm a proud native Washingtonian with a heart and passion for writing and creating. With over 20 years of experience, my humble beginnings as a fashion columnist, I wrote my first article, 'Delight in White' for Black Star News New York, what a proud moment and opportunity! I wrote my first fiction novel, 'It's All Good, on legal pads by pencil. That was because I didn't own a computer, but the story unfolded within me. My daughter rendered her support with a stack of legal pads and pencils whenever she saw me writing. My mom gathered a small team of women who transcribed the entire novel into print form; that's the support system that helped to start my writing career. I enjoyed learning and growing to self-publish my first book and, years later, republish it under Pink Angel Publications. I then became co-founder and chief editor for my church newsletter, Inside the Trinity. This was an amazing experience because I was thrust into a leadership position with an awesome team of men, women, and teens. The motivation and encouragement from my pastor, first lady, and everyone in the congregation elevated my relationship with God. I knew that God was using the position and level of responsibility of the experience to help me rely on Him to grow, set standards, and develop my skill sets. That's what I did. I ventured outward to become the founder and chief editor of my relationship and lifestyle magazine, RED Love Magazine. Blessed yet again with a wonderful and creative team, we produced amazing articles and stories for five years. During this era of my journey, my husband was outstanding in faith and support, taking time as a copy editor. In between things, I love to release my creativity by writing and sharing little notes and quotes, as well as words of inspiration. Presently, several laptops later, I'm writing my second novel. I'm in my zone, with storytelling, creating the most intriguing characters for your love of fiction from Pages of Shari Barnes.
