Me & My CPU

And there was the beginning...A relic that shaped technology today!
And there was the beginning...A relic that shaped technology today!

Reflecting on when I first encountered that large, flashy machine, it was quite hefty and occupied a lot of space. It was an IBM, with its memory wiped clean, given to me by a business associate. Before that, I used the library's computer. At that time, I was learning how to operate its functions. Oh, the agony of losing a whole page of a book, even a chapter, because I didn't save my work frequently. The floppy disk was my go-to for storing files. My experience with dual monitors years into the future was captivating. Initially, I was fascinated by navigating multiple programs between the two screens and transferring data using the mouse. The monitors were always placed side by side for seamless operation. The ability to multitask was liberating. I would work and browse the Internet for personal use.

I could certainly use that dual desktop system now for writing and creating. In my opinion, the Apple Macintosh, or Mac, is sleek and modern, especially in design. I've only had brief interactions with its operating system. Mac owners often say that once you switch to Mac, you won't go back. I've used Windows applications for graphic design, and the results on Mac systems are more vibrant in color, with more professional creative apps. I want one! I've owned and used various computer brands over the years, but I've always loved my Hewlett-Packard, my HP. In 2017, I purchased a new 17-inch laptop. The size is perfect for me; I didn't want anything smaller. Its functionality with Windows is great. There are still features I haven't explored, and some, like DVD/CD use, are outdated, though it's nice to have. In fact, I have packages of unused disks on my desk, and it's 2025. My HP is wonderful, but anyone who wants to gift me a Mac, I'll take it! Keep writing and creating, no matter what CPU you're blessed to have!
