The Personality of Fonts

I love words...I love to express titles with meaningful fonts. Fonts make a difference!
I love words...I love to express titles with meaningful fonts. Fonts make a difference!

When I realized the impact and influence I could achieve by simply altering the appearance of my words, I was astonished. I've never been fond of the norm or what's expected, and I find the typical even more irritating. If I have the chance to do the opposite, I will seize it. To be honest, I don't strive to use sophisticated vocabulary; I just want to express myself. Although I adore the dictionary and thesaurus for their magic, my true love is for words. When I embarked on my journey of creating layouts and designs for my magazine, I was captivated by the myriad font options. There were no college courses or school instructors for me; it was all about exploration. I had the freedom to experiment and apply my discoveries. Designing layouts and pages feels effortless to me because I intuitively know how I want things to look to the public. Experimenting with fonts, I've concluded that they add character to creativity, whether in articles, blogs, or any titled work. There have been specific instances while crafting an article where my mood and mindset dictate the choice of font. Here are a few examples:

Please consider what I'm expressing; these are my thoughts on fonts in relation to imagery and my mood. I'll elaborate further, picture by number 1 to 4, and delve into my font choices:

  1. Her smile conveys a sense of liberation to me. Her appearance is natural, yet she exudes a commanding, alluring, and a presence that's BOLD.

    The font is Gravitas One.

  2. I notice the butterflies, the glow, and the subtle focus or even sadness in her mood; she embodies Soft & Moody.

    The font is Playlist Script.

  3. What can I say, his physique is flawless. I could have opted for something loud and bold, but that wasn't my mood upon seeing this image. Instantly, I saw Hot, Sexy, Confident.

    The font is Eutemia I.

  4. With her hands on her hips and head thrown back as if to say, 'I'm that chic, so not today!'; undeniably she has a Funky Attitude & Sassiness!

    The font is Slackey.

I'm anticipating you might say that you either understand my vision or you don't. This is primarily because each choice of font is influenced by my own vision and mood. What's yours?
